11/7/22 -- The above is an homage to a scene in (the then-recently published) Astonishing X-Men #12 by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday, of Colossus and Wolverine doing their "fastball special" maneuver -- specifically of Colossus tossing Logan at an attacking spaceship. I've only ever been a middling X-Men fan (my brother Peter is the huge X-fan in the family), but I loved those first few story arcs in Astonishing, and we enjoyed following it together.
